Job Summary
Barista Manager is a hands-on craft specialty barista who is able to manage both of our coffee studios in Frisco (3033 Ohio Drive and 7227 Main street).
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of craft specialty drinks
- Fully hands on and passionate.
- Ordering and Inventory
- Have working knowledge of inventory pars, ordering systems, and vendors.
- Responsible for executing assigned weekly orders.
- Monitor stock on inventory items. Order when items are low or out. Potentially expected to restock or replace missing items.
- Maintain organizational systems in shop. Organize perishable items by date.
- Maintain banking systems. Able to execute change orders, bank deposits, and shift sheets.
- Training
- Provide secondary and follow up training on all positions. Give feedback to new employees- both positive and constructive. Ensure that customers are served at the correct level regardless of training.
- Have working knowledge of all training processes and classes.
- Able to execute all levels of training.
- Quality Control and Shift management
- Monitor employees on shift for customer service, drink quality and expediency, and shop/personal cleanliness. Give feedback- both positive and constructive.
- Look for ways to expedite orders. Direct employees when needed. Problem solve.
- If needed, correct problems on shift. Give thorough feedback to employees, and report incidents to manager. Follow up on disciplinary or need for improvement items for specific employees.
- Handle customer problems and complaints.
- Check each position at start and end of shift for completion of duties.
- Monitor special duties. Prompt employees for extra cleaning.
- Very familiar with employee manual- enforce policies.
- Maintain Informational systems in shop and electronically
- Participate in waste log and broken item tracking.
- Maintain shift happenings.
- Check to do lists and communication with owner - Operations - Karmic grounds.- basecamp and email.
- Report one on ones in Basecamp
- Communication
- Ensure employees are up to date on new shop information from meetings and posts.
- Report all relevant shift happenings to owner.
- Conduct one one on one per week.
- Give one positive feedback to each person on shift.
- Correct employees when needed.
- Meet weekly with owner. Meet twice monthly with manager and GM Operations - Karmic grounds..
- Covering for staff
- Able to cover duties for manager when needed. Answer shop phone calls and questions on designated days.
- Shop Emergencies
- Available to fill in on emergency basis as needed.
- Shop and Equipment maintenance
- Execute deep cleaning and equipment tasks.
- Report any equipment problems immediately.
- Able to explain equipment cleaning, maintenance, and function to employees.
- Close Karmic Grounds at end of night shift.
- Cash deposit daily at the bank details provided by GM-Operations
