Position Title: Graphic Designer

Expected Duration: 3 Months Contract

Job Type: FULL TIME Contract

Pay Range: [40.00/hr.] – [44.00/hr.]

Job Description

The design professional we seek will be involved in all phases of print & digital design – from initial concept through completion – for a select number of projects following Valley Metro brand. Responsibilities range from concepting and branding to digital design and layout, print collateral, photography, photo manipulation and beyond. Our ideal candidate is someone with a passion for design who is comfortable working solo “in the zone” as well as in a collaborative brainstorming or creative session. He or she works efficiently in a deadline driven environment, is highly organized and strives for detailed, polished results every time.

Skills:

·         Designs brochures, flyers, posters, advertisements, illustrations for internal and external clients from conception to completion, which includes attending brainstorming meetings; selecting colors; selecting fonts; correcting color images; designing and creating comps; proofreading; recommending paper stock and pre-flighting.

·         Digital design and social media content creation

·         Vector-based illustration

·         Photography, photo retouching, color correcting and archiving

·         Producing and editing maps, schedules, and graphics

·         Designing and producing display boards for internal client meetings and for external outreach events, which includes printing to plotter, cutting prints, trimming foam core boards, and mounting prints to foam core boards.

·         Designing and producing presentations for internal and external client meetings and outreach education events

·         Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned.

Skills:

·         Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

·         Experience with Acrobat and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

·         2-3 years of experience in graphic design

·         Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

·         Effective communication to interact with coworkers, supervisor, and the clients at a level sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

·         A portfolio of your best work

·         Experience in vector-based illustration is a plus.

·         Digital/social media and web design experience is a plus

·         Experience in Workfront (project management software) is a plus.

Education:

Completion of an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design and at least two years of related graphic and print production experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed below.
