Graphic Designer

Job Summary

As a PAWS Chicago Graphic Designer, you have the ability to conceptualize, design and execute solutions for the visual communication of our mission that are original and fresh. You must have both print and web design skills and enjoy learning about and bringing the newest ways of using graphics into the organization. You are experienced in digital/mobile communications and proficient with Adobe Creative Suite. Possess the ability to write some code. Must also have experience in MS Office. You must be a self-starter who likes being highly productive who can work across departments and jump in to help with group initiatives. The ability to juggle multiple projects and quick turn deadlines a must. Create compelling designs across all organizational channels including print, web, and retail design. Should be able to collaborate and produce creative on-brand and on-strategy marketing communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate will be:

3. Be able to work independently - taking projects from concept to both web and print.

5. Possess strong communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

1. Print production knowledge
2. Working with print vendors to acquire print quotes
3. Create and design new web pages and landing pages as well as regular web page updates
4. Work with developer vendor for support
5. Work with communications team for editorial content updates
6. Some physical production work; printing cutting and laminating posters and flyers
7. Create and design posters, invitations and web graphics
8. Occasional night and weekend work required for events.

Requirements

1. Passion for animals and animal welfare

1. Adobe CS6 - Expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
2. Basic Microsoft Office
3. Basic - Intermediate HTML knowledge required
4. Ability to preflight, send artwork to print and work with printers during the proofing process.
5. At least 5 years experience in graphic design.
