Grant Writer - Chicago Area Primarily Remote

Overview:

The Center for Advancing Domestic Peace is seeking a skilled and experienced Grant Writer to join our team . The candidate must have experience in completing and submitting government grants. As a Grant Writer, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing grant proposals to secure funding for our organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and has a strong background in grant writing and fundraising.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities

- Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals - Knowledgeable about and

experience writing government grants

- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Program team members to gather necessary information for grant applications

- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and grant-making organizations

- Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in grant writing

- Assist in the development of strategic plans for fundraising initiatives

- Proofread and edit grant proposals for accuracy and clarity

Skills:

- Excellent writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas

- Strong research skills to identify relevant funding opportunities

- Knowledge of grant writing techniques and best practices especially with government grants

- Proficiency in proofreading and editing documents

- Experience in technical writing, particularly in the context of grants or contracts

- Familiarity with fundraising strategies and donor cultivation

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines

- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
