Job Description
Immediately hiring a Grants Accountant for a national nonprofit with headquarters in NYC. The organization has been in operation for over thirty years and has a well established leadership team. Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates the centralized accounting and financial reporting for assigned grant portfolio, including preparing annual and project budgets, forecasting revenue, estimating any carry-over of funds from one year to the next
- Reviews and approves grant-related journal entries and monitors charges for reasonableness and compliance with organization policies and procedures.
- Perform services on a cost-reimbursement basis as required by government grants; perform accounting functions for all grants and contracts.
- Research issues, prepares invoices/ billings, and collects funds for the support of restricted fund expenditures.
- Calculates, prepares, and submits the annual indirect cost rate as required and manages costs across assigned grants portfolio
- Monthly bank accounts reconciliations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Nonprofit Financial Management
- Minimum of two years experience working in nonprofit accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with fund accounting software
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
