Graduate Engineer - Structural

ISG is excited to bolster our team with a Structural Graduate Engineer and join our team in our Bloomington, MN office. As a Structural Graduate Engineer, you will be an ISG Employee Owner working collaboratively with your fellow employee owners to develop creative solutions. In this role, you will work closely with Sam Brockshus, PE, Structural Engineering Practice Group Leader and Jason Burns, PE, Structural Group Leader. You will also collaborate with ISG internal resources for design and project coordination, project execution, code review and evaluations, specification writers, visualization specialists, and construction administrators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Contribute to the development and implementation of structural engineering strategies.
• Prepare drawings, documents, details, schedules, or specifications using programs such as Revit, RISA, and similar structural engineering software.
• Serve as a liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractors.
• Provide expertise on construction sites as needed.
• Interface with contractors, clients, and other ISG team members in a positive & professional manner.
• Subscribe to our goals and objectives, operating with a collaborative mentality.
• Become a complementary member of our team, and on a project-by-project basis.
• Work closely on construction plans with clients, architects, and other engineering professionals.
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations, generating drawings and other technical duties.
• Calculate loads and stresses on different parts of a structure.
• Inspect buildings and recommend options for repairs or demolition.
• Monitor engineering design schedules and budgets.
• Work collaboratively with multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Field measure and document existing buildings.
• Produce and coordinate construction drawings with other disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Ability to travel to various job sites and office locations.
• Able to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Strong communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of the design standards.
• Self-directed and can work independently with minimal supervision.
