GRADUATE SITE ENGINEER / SURVEYOR

Lagan Construction, LLC is a third-generation family-owned general contractor specializing in airfield construction. We have successfully completed airfield projects for Ronald Reagan National Airport, Minot Air Force Base, NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Nava Air Station Whiting Field, Biggs Army Airfield, Joint Base Andrews, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Westover Air Reserve Base, Farmville Regional Airport, Lonesome Pine Airport, and Pensacola International Airport.

We have an immediate need for a full-time Graduate Site Engineer for a runway rehabilitation project at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

GENERAL ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES (R&Rs)

The following reflects the main tasks and responsibilities associated with your position and not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

• Promote a collaborative environment within the Project team.
• Working with the Senior Engineer/Surveyor, Site Management and production crews to ensure that works are staked-out as per Project requirements so that works can proceed on schedule.
• Review Project drawings to ensure all work elements are staked-out in the field so that no items of work are overlooked.
• Carry out as-built record surveys to ensure works are executed in compliance with Specifications
• Review material usage for wastage reconciliation purposes.
• Ensure that all existing and newly installed utilities are marked in the field and Permits to Excavate in place.
• Ensure required Quality Control and Company procedural documents are in place, including calibration checks and records for surveying equipment.
• Understanding of Specification and Contract requirements to ensure works executed to correct standards.
• Ensure good cost and quality control measures are implemented effectively in line with Company procedures and ensure direct reports understand production outputs and cost awareness.
• Communicate key issues to Project Manager (PM) and CM/PS.
• Ensure effective and appropriate written communications and reports to PM and CM/PS in line with Company procedures and Project requirements.
• Maintain daily record of work. Also ensure contemporary records for substantiation of any Variation or Change Order works are maintained and submitted as required to Senior Engineer.
• Attend Daily and Weekly internal briefings and progress meetings respectively as required.
