SAIC is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), specifically within the Digital Engineering, Modeling & Simulation (DEM&S) directorate. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing DEM&S goals in alignment with the National Defense Strategy under the OUSD(R&E), as a SAIC employee.
This position is a hybrid remote role with some onsite work located in Alexandria, VA.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leverage your expertise in at least one SysML tool, such as Cameo, to create and maintain system models and documentation.
- Develop software components and applications to support system integration, testing, and deployment, with a focus on quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java, applying best practices and industry standards to code development and optimization.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in Systems Engineering, continuously enhancing your skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering or related roles is acceptable, with a demonstrated track record of successful project contributions.
- A Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles, methodologies, and practices.
- Some knowledge in SysML, with hands-on experience in creating and interpreting system models.
- Demonstrated ability to write software, either through completion of relevant coursework or practical experience in software development.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or Java is preferred.
Required Clearance:
- No clearance required to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment
- US citizenship required
