The Opportunity
  • Applications of responsibilities to transportation projects involving civil design supporting roadways, railways, and airports
  • Use Civil 3D or MicroStation software to layout roads, multi-use paths, flood barriers, drainage systems and utility systems as well as site grading and earthwork designs
  • Use Hydraulic modeling tools such as Autodesk Storm and Sanitary, InfoWorks, and PCSWMM to analyze and design stormwater, sanitary, potable water systems, and flood protection systems
  • Perform data collection, research, and apply codes, specifications and standards for design of the above elements
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to apply skills in delivering sustainable outcomes
  • Apply understanding of all phases of the planning, design and construction process
  • Research requirements of regulatory environment for gaining approval at different stages of project delivery
  • Engage with project stakeholders and clients to develop designs thatmeetsneeds and concerns
  • Support development of drawings, reports, calculation packages, and specifications
  • Perform pre-construction and construction-phase site visits

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, or relevant engineering degree
  • Sound knowledge of Civil Engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Professional demeanor
  • Good communication skillsessentialfor team-based working
  • Ability to perform in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Preferred:
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
  • EIT/ FE Certification
  • Preference for transportation and infrastructure project work
  • Proficient with Civil Engineering design and analysis tools for roads, stormwater, and/or utility systems
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D CAD software and MicroStation
  • Pastinternship or extracurricular activity in the field
  • Personal investment in academic or extracurricular field
