Job Title: Civil Engineer.
LOCATION: Everglades, Florida, United States.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
2. Experience: None to two years of related experience in Civil Engineering or a relevant internship/co-op experience.
3. Physical Capability: Must be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods of time, as site visits and inspections are often required.
4. Knowledge: Solid understanding of Civil Engineering principles, concepts, and practices. Familiarity with design software and relevant engineering codes and standards.
5. Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering analysis tools. Knowledge of industry-standard software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar applications, is preferred.
6. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports and documentation.
7. Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address engineering challenges. Capacity to contribute to the development of innovative and practical solutions.
8. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design, calculations, and documentation.
9. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
10. Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Support: Assist senior engineers in the planning, design, and execution of Civil Engineering projects.
2. Design and Analysis: Contribute to the development of project designs, including site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, and utility networks. Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
3. Construction Support: Provide on-site assistance during construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and regulations. Collaborate with contractors and project teams to address construction-related issues.
4. Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and construction records.
5. Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with design plans, and identify potential issues or risks.
6. Technical Research: Conduct research and gather data on materials, construction techniques, and relevant regulations to support project decision-making.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers, to facilitate effective project coordination and communication.
8. Permitting and Compliance: Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
9. Quality Assurance: Support quality assurance efforts by conducting inspections, reviewing construction materials, and participating in quality control activities.
