Job Summary: As a Golf Shop Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Golf Shop and providing excellent customer service to golfers. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their golf-related needs, managing inventory, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized retail environment. This position requires a strong knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
· Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
· Provide information about golf products, services, and promotions.
· Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests with a positive attitude.
2. Sales and Merchandising:
· Assist customers in selecting appropriate golf equipment, apparel, and accessories based on their needs and preferences.
· Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing merchandise display.
· Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves as needed.
· Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
3. Product Knowledge:
· Stay up-to-date on the latest golf equipment, trends, and technology.
· Provide expert advice on club fitting, golf ball selection, and other golf-related topics.
· Attend training sessions to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
4. Cash Handling and POS Operation:
· Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately.
· Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and other related equipment.
· Balance cash register at the end of each shift.
5. Maintaining Cleanliness and Order:
· Keep the Golf Shop area clean, organized, and presentable.
· Arrange merchandise in an appealing manner to attract customers.
· Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
6. Assist in Special Events:
· Support the coordination and execution of golf-related events or tournaments hosted by the golf facility.
· Provide assistance to participants, sponsors, and event organizers as needed.
7. Team Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with other Golf Shop staff and facility personnel.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a Golf Shop.
- Strong knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to lift and move golf equipment and merchandise.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 29 per week
