The Golf Course provides a learning environment for GCU business students and serves as the home for GCU Golf student-athletes. Our mission is to position the former Maryvale Golf Course as a community and university asset.
Grand Canyon University’s Golf Course Lope House Restaurant is seeking a part-time Bartender. The Bartender will provide beverage service by serving customers promptly & courteously, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, and at all times in line with hygiene and safety regulations and creating a service environment which fosters return customers. This role will be located at our Golf Course on 59th Ave and Indian School Rd.
Schedule: 2 to 3 days a week (some weekends and holidays).
What you will do:
Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages.
Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks.
Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
Plan and present bar menu.
Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service in all touch points with customers (information, greeting, Food service, bar service, retail service).
Working shift work and weekends, and public holidays, ensuring prompt timekeeping and attendance.
Promote a positive perception of the Company at all times both internally & externally.
Adhere to employee conduct, uniform, and personal hygiene requirements.
Report any incidents of complaint, accident, fire, loss, or damage.
Verify server and beverage cart checkouts at the end of shift, ensuring the cash amount given matches the P.O.S. checkout report.
Verify beverage cart cash bank is reset to the correct amount, $200 and placed into the safe.
Place server and beverage cart checkout envelopes into the safe night drop.
Assist with service in other areas of the Golf Course operations as requested.
What you will need:
High School Degree or GED equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in restaurant, hotel, Golf Course food operations as bartender.
Ability to work a minimum of 4 shifts a week. This may include doubles or consecutive closing and opening shifts which may include nights, weekends and/or holidays to ensure adequate coverage.
Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays or extended hours as needed.
Must successfully pass a background check.
