Project Description: The mission of the Office of Global Health (OGH) in the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Department of Internal Medicine is to confront the disparities in Global Health through research, education, and Health Services in partnership with institutions serving resource-limited communities around the world. OGH supports bidirectional medical Education and training opportunities for students and clinical trainees within the Yale Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health, and for international partners as well. They will also have developed a robust understanding of the current state of Global Health clinical education, through exposure to the OGH models of ethical and equitable institutional partnerships (and in the context of the global conversations about decolonizing the field of Global Health). Finally, the intern will have had the opportunity to connect with Global Health faculty at YSM and international visiting faculty from Makerere University in Uganda, and to learn about New Haven-based local Global Health training connections as well.
Other Opportunities Associated With this Job: The intern will have the opportunity to work with and contribute to a small team, and to have a significant impact on the way that the OGH mission, vision, and accomplishments are communicated to a variety of audiences.
