Job description

The Information Services Group is a Operations Unit that has staff in over 22 countries with heavy coverage of Markets business with support in Banking Capital Markets and Advisory, Security Services, Treasury and Trade Solutions and Personal Banking & Wealth Management. ISG Operations provides an array of services to enable client lifecycle transactions; from relationship establishment to supporting the data demands surrounding instruments.
This role will oversee the transformation strategy across our core operations functions which include:

  • Accounts Control Group who creates and maintain trading and cash accounts for client activity.
  • Client Onboarding who coordinate the pre-trading requirements between our internal and external clients.
  • Entity Data Management who creates & maintain all the Reference data related to clients.
  • Documentation Unit who captures data within clients legal docs.
  • The Events team supplies announcement data to provide accurately and timely NAV and corporate action events.
  • Security Ops delivers all Security related data within the golden source for the firm.
  • Global Pricing Ops provides critical securities pricing, security set-up and customize client reporting solutions.

The ISG Operations Transformation Group Head requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a ops function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on other related areas and organization as a whole. Develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units. Provides input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business. Full management responsibility of multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning. Has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on company revenues, capital or business operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and execution of Client Lifecycle Management Programs, from orchestration to client data optimization.
  • Implementing best practices and global consistency, simplifying & standardizing processes, and flows across operations
  • Drive digitization and implementation alongside our operations teams, delivering automated solutions to solve for operational challenges.
  • Partner with Citi's innovation labs to drive optimization and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.
  • Develops strategic direction and feedback with respect to initiative or program creation, alignment to firm and business goals, stakeholder management, and executive communications.
  • Builds and manages relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads.
  • Collaborates with Program Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business goals.
  • Manages the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
  • Manages business planning initiatives for an entire functional area.
  • Exercises control over budget, policy formulation and planning and significant contribution to future strategy.
  • Develops guidelines for appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in global financial institutions
  • Specialized program management and/or re-engineering certifications (six sigma, Agile, Lean)
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and developing effective and diverse teams across a global footprint.
  • Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise, demonstrated success interacting with senior management both in the business, corporate functions as well as the Operations, Business and Technology environments
  • Financial services and transformation experience (direct or consulting firm) with significant recent experience driving large scale global transformation programs for senior levels of a financial services organization.
  • Should have Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation).
  • Familiarity with regulatory landscape facing global banks. Ideally, have worked in banking industry or regulators institutions.
  • Professional ability and presence to interact with Senior Stakeholders, Regulatory and Audit Management.
  • Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization's model and its future development.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience, Masters Degree preferred
