Job Description
LSI is currently seeking a part-time (24-29 hours/week) Global Greens Program Specialist to work in the Des Moines area.
What You'll Do
The Global Greens Program Specialist provides technical assistance to refugee client growers in LSI's Global Greens Program in the areas of market support, farmer payments, and day-to-day farm business and financial management. The Specialist provides general administrative and data management support for Global Greensprograms in compliance with agency and funder standards. The Specialist is responsible for data collection and records related to client market incomes. This position is seasonal and requires some Tuesday-Saturday availability and some evening hours during the farm season.
What You'll Need
Required: Bachelors degree and minimum of one year of related experience OR Associates degree and 3 years of related experience OR significant experience in the core areas in lieu of minimum education. Must be able to work independently with limited supervision and demonstrate culturally competent social skills and interactions.
Related experience includes providing services to refugees; project/data management; and financial management, including independent management of financial accounts. Intermediate Excel and QuickBooks experience is required. Ideal candidates will have proficiency in small business development and finance and/or account management. Experience in organic and sustainable agriculture and knowledge of local farmer's markets and the general local food movement is a plus.
