Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Global Benefits Program Manager located in one of the following locations: Midland, Michigan; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Terneuzen, Netherlands.
About You
In this role, you will enable a best-in-class employee experience through exceptional subject matter expertise, consultation, and service delivery for Global Benefits broker management (currently Mercer) and the related benefits solution (currently Darwin). This includes the management, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions specific to Benefits, namely country specific Health & Welfare (H&W) Benefits. This global role is an escalation point to provide specialist expertise to triage and resolve cases within the tiered service delivery. You will lead projects partner with local Benefits Specialists and Plan Managers and have accountability for ongoing activities. You will function as a resource for colleagues with less experience, support all businesses and functions and align to the Global Benefits Team within Human Resources.
Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Plan Fiduciary.
  • Vendor management and partnership.
  • Partner with reinsurance and captive providers.
  • Global benefits metrics facilitation and management.
  • Manage global / local benchmarking process.
  • Resolve complex plan, legal or participant benefit issues.
  • Provide consulting to leadership and participants on program policies and process interpretations.
  • Ensure compliance and governance for the related country specific plans (various countries, 60+ throughout APAC, EMEAI, LATAM, and NA).
  • Partner with local and regional Benefits Specialists, Managers, and Leaders on presentations, information sharing, decisions, etc.
  • Idea generation related to plan design and implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise on issues associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Provide expertise and support to internal/external auditors; and developing content for communications to plan participants, including those communications required by government agencies.
  • Address escalated HR inquiries, claims, appeals, and review and/or approve transaction activities, as applicable.
  • Provide information and insights to Leadership to continuously improve Knowledge Base and Case Management content.
  • Ability to make effective decisions after careful consideration of courses of action and impact on various employee groups and the company.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in Benefits administration and/or management, Human Resources, Finance, or relevant area of discipline. 5 plus years is preferred.
  • For U.S. Applicants Only: A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills:
  • A degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or other relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with process automation tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate is an asset.
  • Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, SAP, or other HRIS systems.
  • Financial and business acumen.
  • Solid analytical skills to develop and interpret alternative solutions and convey best alternatives to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions after careful consideration of courses of action and impact on various employee/retiree groups and the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills so able to discuss complex issues with a broad spectrum of audiences.
  • Solid presentation skills, which can be utilized in engagements with large populations, leaders, etc.
  • Strong partnership skills, as the role works very closely with various functions, businesses, and providers.
  • Able to use appropriate judgment in escalation or when to involve other resources in decision making or processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (both written and spoken).
