GIS Solutions Architect |Hybrid| Various Locations

VHB's growing technology enablement team is seeking a talented GIS Solutions Architect to join our team.  As a GIS Solutions Architect, you will be joining a team of highly skilled GIS professionals supporting large and small GIS projects. The position will support both internal technology initiatives and client facing projects, supporting a broad range of GIS services relating to mobile data collection, robotic process automation, transportation, land development and environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly configured mobile data collection applications using ArcGIS Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123 and QuickCapture.
• Configure/build/deploy interactive, web-based GIS applications using Esri technology.
• Build custom data connectors using Microsoft Power Automate or Logic Apps or similar technology.
• Create architecture models and diagrams to properly describe the requirements of a web application.
• Writes project architecture documents, including models and data flow diagrams.
• Mentor junior staff members.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient with Esri's GIS Software Platform
  • ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS JavaScript API
• Expert in configuring mobile data collection applications using ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Quick Capture.
• Expertise with Esri's web application builders (Experience Builder and WebApp Builder).
• Hands on experience with robotic process automation using Microsoft Power Automate, Logic Apps, Azure Functions or similar technology.
• Programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or HTML5 (modern web frameworks)

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect and enterprise level.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering or a directly related field.
• Proven experience documenting business requirements, architecting business solutions based on client need that adhere to operational, architectural and design standards and principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple concurrent development projects.
• Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodology.
• Knowledge of various deployment and hosting environments and platforms.
• Experience with relational/spatial databases
