Job Description
We are seeking a high-level GIS Project Manager with extensive past working experience. This position supervises our rapidly growing GIS team in our Cincinnati, OH office. Duties to be performed will include:
- GIS Project Management
- Staff supervision & scheduling
- GIS team and project budget development
- Staff recruitment, training, and development
- Business Development
- Create presentations for and attend industry conferences
The successful candidate will be responsible for management of contracts for external clients comprised of local, state, and federal government agencies, utility companies and commercial clients. The position requires significant client interaction and business development responsibilities. Travel may be required as we continue to grow our services to new customers and for industry conference attendance.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will have a minimum of a BA/BS degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, or related field, plus a minimum of ten (10) years of professional GIS experience or the equivalent work experience of fifteen (15) years in this industry. Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years project management experience including supervising a GIS team, overseeing the work of GIS analysts, programmers, and technicians.
Technical Skills: Candidate’s technical experience must include proficiency with the following:
- Proposal writing
- System design and development
- User interface development and application integration
- GIS data development and conversion
- Relational database design and implementation
- Web application design and development, documentation, and extensive knowledge of the latest Esri ArcGIS products.
- Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
Experience with the following software/hardware is a required:
- Esri ArcGIS platform
- ArcSDE (ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase)
- RDMS – MS-SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres
- Python
- CAD (AutoCAD/Microstation)
- Microsoft Office Suite
Required Project Management Skills and Certifications:
Candidate for this position must demonstrate strong independent thought and decision-making abilities along with leadership and supervisory skills. Candidate’s managerial experience shall also include the following:
- GISP (or ability to obtain within two (2) years of hire)
- PMP (or ability to obtain within two (2) years of hire)
- Direct supervision of GIS staff
- Personnel management
- Performance reviews
- Staff training
- QA/QC review of deliverables
- Previous consultancy work is highly desirable
- Proven record of establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients and in-house staff
Must have extensive experience in preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work management of multiple coincident contracts, ongoing management of project schedules, budgets, and billing/collections
Candidate’s experience should include the ability to respond to RFP’s, SOQ’s, prepare and deliver presentations and interviews for Public Works Projects, Utility Construction Projects, and other GIS projects
