Gis Program Manager

Mission-focused Program Manager in a critical management role at a growing business needed to organize and assume responsibility for the The National Map. This position is the supervision and management of a fully integrated end-to-end suite of software tools, system architecture, and baseline GIS production. You will lead 12 direct reports and 60 indirect in the management, production, and execution of this program. As a key member of Xcellent Technology Solutions (XTS) Leadership team your objectives will include scoring well on client evaluations, development of in-house talent, and management of resources towards the objective. Superior GIS knowledge and some software development proficiency along with deep knowledge in Project / Program Management are required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Geography, GIS, Geodesy or very closely related field
Previous experience managing 20+ personnel successfully for at least 2 years
PMP Certification or equivalent
Live within convenient commuting distance from the Denver Federal Center
Not a “sideline gig” this position will require the candidate's full concentration, At XTS we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us and the position requirements here are full-time plus a little bit
Must be able to pass a federal background check
Skill Sets:
Agile or Scrum Project Management to facilitate developer teams
Deep knowledge of JIRA to organize workflows
Ability to interact with , derive intent , and respond to Senior Leadership inquires
Proficiency in Technical Writing background for the review of business proposals with the same client (Federal Writing or Task Order writing a major plus)
Strong communication skills for engaging remote workforce
Knowledge of , or ability to, rapidly learn federal contracting rules
Understanding of basic mathematical functions for determining profit and loss related to employee compensation, benefits, and other relevant areas
A Day in the Life (How you will spend your time)
1 Day per week on-site in Lakewood Colorado
4 Weekly Plus Ad-hoc Meetings with Corporate HQ
Some ability to travel for work roughly 1 week per quarter
Time wise:
50% spent developing, mentoring, and leading XTS employees
20% spent with the client communicating status, issues, and risks
10% spent with the talent acquisition team coordinating understanding of role requirements
15% Proposal writing along a specified style guide
5% Administrative tasks related to corporate needs

This is a key leadership position for XTS, you will report to a senior company vice president and be evaluated by the Chief Operating Officer.
