Job Description
Company Background
Job Responsibilities:
This exciting opportunity is contingent upon contract award, with work anticipated to begin by
January 1, 2024, subject to client needs. You will be the foundational, “data wrangling” back-end support to a small team that includes paid staff as well as interns. Your data-focused
position will help generate a high-profile, public-facing web map of land zoning parcels across
an entire U.S. state.
This project challenge will require data diligence, strategic planning, GIS
experience, and common-sense engagement to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications:
You will have at least five years of experience with managing complex geospatial datasets for
land use planning, including working as part of a project team to deliver public map software on
time and within budget. You should “eat, breathe, and live” geospatial data, and be excited
with signing everything from polygon geometry to attribute metadata in geodatabases.
As GIS Data Analyst, you will be a friendly face to all, but responsible in your mission to achieve
the map project accurately in accordance with client requirements. Your focus will be on
collecting, sorting, cleaning, and deploying geospatial data for the map deliverable. You will
also appreciate the visual art of making an attractive “front-end” map the public understands.
Since university interns will collaborate with you, you must be able to inspire them.
You will be familiar inside and out with Esri-brand geospatial tools both past and current. You
will have working experience with ArcGIS, Esri geodatabases, ArcMap, Python, and SQL. Ideally
you will have some familiarity with Javascript. You will closely understand land-use planning.
You must be able to pass a basic background check as required by the government client.
