Job description

To be successful in this role, you:
  • Have minimum seven (7) years' experience of operational or consultant experience in data management, operations, or governance roles.
  • Have minimum four (4)years' experience developing expert knowledge of Data Governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of data assets.
  • Have minimum four (4) years business systems analyst with thorough understanding of data management systems such as Snowflake or SQL server.
  • Are proficient in querying languages (T-SQL, Snowflake, MySQL) and at least one programming language (Python/R)
  • Exhibit proficiency with ETL processes and tools (SSIS, SQL Procedures and Functions, Remote Data Staging)
  • Possess established experience with Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent data visualization tools.

Essential functions and Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Consult with data owners and data stewards to drive industry standards in business terms, data detection and quality rules.
  • Help lead the roadmap and socialization of business processes, Data Governance and supporting tools to drive our Data Governance strategy forward.
  • Maintain and write data detection and quality rules in collaboration with data owners/stewards.
  • Develop quality monitoring and reporting with data owners/stewards.
  • Developing advanced workflows and plans to support Data Governance processes.
  • Communicate new data and changes to the data to stakeholders.
  • Maintain scheduled jobs, escalate discrepancies to Data Governance Lead as necessary.
  • Maintain enterprise-wide data inventory, and data flow.
  • Manage workload; participate in SCRUM meeting; providing status updates on assigned tasks.
  • Create/maintain training materials and mentor/train team

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including senior level staff.
  • Expert technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to derive insights.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize backlog.
  • Expert knowledge of data management practices
  • Strong Experience with source control systems e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket or similar
  • Experience writing SQL queries, developing reports and dashboards using Tableau, SSRS or similar.
  • Working knowledge of Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodology.

Compensation and Benefits:
The position is FLSA Exempt and is not eligible for overtime and has a 10% annual incentive target based on company, department, and individual performance goals. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

Sensory/Physical/Mental Requirements:
Sensory*:
  • Speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, touch, smell, and balance.

Physical*:
  • Extended periods of sitting, computer use, talking and possibly standing.
  • Simple grasp, firm grasp, fine manipulation, pinch, finger dexterity, supination/pronation, wrist flexion.
  • Frequent torso/back static position; occasional stooping, bending, and twisting.

Mental:
  • Must be able to manage conflict, communicate effectively and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Work Environment:
  • Office environment. Employees who frequently work in front of computer monitors are at risk for environmental exposure to low-grade radiation.
