Summary:
The Gift Shop Operator will work closely with the Gift Shop Lead(s) and Gift Shop Manager to ensure the GIFT SHOPs operate smoothly. This will include providing exceptional customer service, assisting in product check in and helping display merchandise.
Demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.
Responsibilities:
Multi tasks, recognize and efficiently manage stressful situations in an empathetic and compassionate fashion.
Required to travel between campuses as necessary to attend meetings, assure coverage or for the purpose of staff development as deemed appropriate by management.
Check in and mark merchandise.
Responsible for covering shifts when substitutes are not available.
Restock merchandise.
Assist Lead with merchandising efforts and GIFT SHOP displays.
Assist in training new volunteers at all three locations.
Route merchandise to various locations.
Promotes atmosphere of enthusiasm and pride amongst GIFT SHOP personnel.
Accurately directs patients, visitors, and all other Covenant customers to the appropriate area of service.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required.
Retail experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of standard office equipment.
Excellent interpersonal skills consistent with teamwork, patient consideration, and cooperation are required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates organizational skills.
Good clerical skills.
Sound judgement in handling confidential or sensitive issues and materials.
Ability to multi task.
Demonstrates ability to interact with hospital patients and their families.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, handling, and feeling.
