Job Duties:
Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Srvcs (DARS) aspires to improve the employment, quality of life, security, and independence of older Virginians, Virginians with disabilities, and their families. As a member of the DARS Central Administrative Division and General Services Department, this position supports the DARS mission in the attainment of quality financial management, logistics/fleet management, safety, lease management, procurement, and facilities management services.
We are seeking a General Services Admin Assistant. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth functioning of DARS General Services (DARS-GS) by handling various procurements, logistics and fleet administrative tasks, and providing general customer service/support for all department functions and responsibilities. These efforts ultimately contribute to the support of DARS and all Disabilities Services Agencies (DSA). The role encompasses providing administrative support and front-facing customer service/response for all DARS-GS areas as assigned.
Serving as a point of contact, it assists all Central Administrative Division Departments in meeting their respective procurement needs for goods/services to serve DSA customers and the agency. Additionally, it involves providing backup duties and coverage across all DARS General Services functions as assigned.

Knowledge/Experience:
Working knowledge of general offices practices, procedures, and office equipment and of MS Office, such as Word and Excel.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to provide exceptional customer service and service delivery, with excellent oral and written communications skills: and to organize/prioritize work and work independently. Ability to be detail oriented, proficient, and accurate in data entry; and to multi-task, prioritize daily workload to meet deadlines and exercise good judgement following established policy and procedures.
Additional Considerations:
Knowledge and working experience with Commonwealth of Virginia and eVA purchasing requirements as they relate to agency procurements. Knowledge and working experience using eVA. Active Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) and/or Virginia Contracting Officer (VCO) certifications.
