Job Description
As the General Manager you are responsible for the overall success of the restaurant. Your scope covers the entirety of the restaurant. Daily activities and responsibilities evolve and change based on the needs of the restaurant, but the core responsibilities are as follows.
Service:
Uphold company standards and practices in accordance to the Handbook, Service Standards, and Core Values of Juliet Italian Kitchen at all times.
Maintain Training standards, and materials.
Maintain design elements of all menus, QR codes, coasters, pens etc.
Own all things that are directly guest facing.
- Create and Maintain systems of operations for the flow of service, and execution of service in the FOH.
Respond to guest inquiries and complaints in person or digitally with help from the social media coordinator.
Support and lead servers, server assistants, and bar staff.
Delegate priorities to team members and managers as needed.
Work with Chef team to make sure food is always up to our standards, garnished and served properly.
Make sure all drinks, and wines are served correctly.
Complete and review all checklists for all positions, including your own.
Help ensure that all BEOs are accounted for and executed correctly.
Financial:
Ensure that tips are being distributed fairly and equally among staff members.
Ensure team incomes, hourly wages, and salaries are at or above industry standards.
Restaurant key-holder.
Balance all Daily Sales Reports
Edit time punches and maintain accurate time punches daily.
Edit, approve, and close out all tips using gratuity solutions.
Maintain tip out systems in accordance with company standards.
Handle all Cash and make sure everything balances for each day.
Create change orders and do bank runs.
Assign counts and 86s to items in Toast
Review budget for controllable expenses.
Make purchases such as glassware, silverware, flatware etc...
Maintain inventory of coasters, pens, uniforms and other branded materials.
Facilitate the financial success of the business by monitoring the schedule of all team members.
Limit waste, and excess spending at all times.
Keep an inventory of paper goods and products.
Maintain relationships with Vendors.
Attend weekly financial meetings with corporate team to review the P&L tool, repairs and maintenance, and budgets.
Responsible for a company credit card, and maintaining invoices in correlation with that card.
Administrative:
Hire and On-Board team members into R365 software, Toast, Grat Share, etc...
It is ultimately your responsibility to make sure that everyone gets paid, and that everyone is entered legally into our systems.
Train General Managers, AGMs and Bar Managers on Administrative duties.
Oversee the Schedule within the needs of the restaurant.
Keep track of time off requests and team member availabilities.
Write up or issue verbal warnings for team members as needed.
Terminate team members when necessary.
Maintain Staffing Pars for all FOH team members.
Interview potential new hires
Work with Trainers on maintaining training materials
Perform reviews with team members after 60 days of employment.
Perform reviews with team members annually.
Set and establish Wages for hourly / salaried managers on an annual basis in conjunction with the budget.
Sign for Deliveries
Lead weekly manager meetings.
Maintain Organization of paper products, checklists, and training files.
Put away paper orders and keep the office clear of boxes.
Place orders for Texas Coffee Traders, Ben E. Keith, and Prudential Overall Supply.
Maintain service relationships with our preventative maintenance companies.
Ensure the quality of product and the perception of product is always upheld to the highest standard.
Keep the restaurant stocked with office supplies, tools, and utensils as needed.
Maintenance:
Maintain service relationships with our preventative maintenance companies.
Call in service requests to approved vendors when equipment malfunctions, or any hazards present themselves.
Fix and Solve and issues with internet, printers, POS, Sonos, Opentable, etc..
