General Manager / Vice President
West Coast Area

Summary
The General Manager/Vice President (GM/VP) is primarily responsible for building and operating world class specialty pharmacies for CPS Solutions clients at a multiunit level (at minimum 2 sites or multi-service line depending on size and complexity). The GM/VP independently manages all specialty pharmacy program operations and clinical activities and is responsible for developing goals and tactics to support CPS' and clients' strategic goals. The GM/VP's primary goal is to have the CPS staff provide the highest-level care and exceptional experience to all patients in a client's specialty pharmacy program. The GM/VP will also be responsible to manage all business aspects of the clients' program, including revenue, expenses, productivity, strategy development, goals, staff management and more. The GM/VP will be ultimately responsible for the success of a client or a region of clients.
This position must have a home base of either Portland, OR or Long Beach, CA.
Responsibilities:
  • The General Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop clients program strategy, goals, and tactics to ensure client success
  • Lead the growth and profitability of the specialty pharmacies for the clients and CPS
  • Meet service performance targets and assure contractual SLAs are always exceeded
  • Lead the onsite team of clinicians, liaisons, technicians, and other ancillary and support staff to outperform targets and create high patient and provider satisfaction
  • Lead operating and business reviews with clients
  • Own the relationship between CPS and the Clients' pharmacy and executive leadership from setting targets to addressing performance issues
  • Lead the development of the specialty pharmacy program culture at the client site, bridging Trellis culture and values with those of the client
  • Lead client-based negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers and third-party payors
  • Oversee compliance with manufacturer distribution network and specialty pharmacy network contracts
  • Identify and collaborate with pharmaceutical companies, partnering with CPS specialists, for non-service-related revenue contracts
  • Work closely with Client and CPS technology resources to extract data for comprehensive analyses supporting specialty pharmacy and non-service-related revenue contracts
  • Manage projects including the idea creation; identifying and engaging key stakeholders; developing and executing the project; leading change through all levels of the organization; and timely completion
  • Forecast specialty operating plans, with a focus on needs identification; assisting in assessing financial value; negotiating price and value through financial mechanisms and tools; and managing requests and purchases (e.g., review and approval of invoices)
  • Improve productivity, via prudent targeting, sound process development approaches (e.g., value stream design), measurement systems, and leading change to meet productivity targets
  • Compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws, regulations, and rules; compliance with all accreditation standards; and knowledge of and adherence to all policies and procedures of CPS and the client
  • Share on-call responsibilities as needed
  • Investigate and respond appropriately to all complaints and takes effective corrective action when necessary
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve interpersonal or professional conflicts when dealing with members of the organization
  • Consistently demonstrate tact, courtesy and positive attitude in communication and interaction with other employees, third party payer representatives, physicians, and patients
  • At all times represents CPS in a position positive manner
  • Utilize CPS behavioral standards as the basis for decision making and to support the hospital's mission and goals
  • Within the scope of the department and organization and relevant to department and professional standards, other duties and responsibilities as requested by CPS

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position is responsible for multisite supervision of members of the on-site teams, including liaisons, clinical pharmacists, and managers, unless those members report to a Clinical Operations Manager (COM). If a COM is present at the sites, the GM will be responsible for direct supervision of the COM at each site

Travel:
  • Travel is an essential component of this job - this would include travel both by air and car. To fully function in this role, employee must have a valid driver's license. Position requires ability to travel at minimum of 30% of the time. The other time will be spent at a home site.

Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy. An advanced degree in pharmacy, business, or a related healthcare field (e.g., PharmD, M.S., MPH, MBA) is preferred
  • At least two years of management experience, including staff supervision
  • Demonstrated success growing a complex operation and having a tangible impact on patients and or customers
  • Leadership in a specialty pharmacy, health system or managed care setting with a proven ability to translate a strategic plan into operational impact is preferred
  • Experience with physician relations in a hospital or health system is preferred
  • Experience managing and improving patient experience is preferred
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy programs or overseeing pharmacy operations is preferred

  • Strong leadership and collaborative people management skills demonstrated by high team satisfaction and customer satisfaction scores
  • Hands-on, high-energy and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Experience creating and managing a departmental or company budget
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Calendar
  • Excellent project management skills, and capable know-how in process development approaches (IHI, A3, process mapping, lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Self-starter, proactive, works quickly and accurately
  • Capable of program development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Capable of long-range program planning that involves complex decision-making tasks.
  • High degree of analytical ability in mathematics, scientific and management principals necessary to develop, review, and modify procedures and programs
  • Must be exceptionally organized to manage multiple priorities and diverse activities, to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Dedicated team player with the willingness and desire to learn and grow within the organization
  • Ability to anticipate objections and plan appropriate responses; ability to perform and lead effectively in stressful situations and to solve problems as they occur

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)
  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months

  • Hep B3 Series
