Sanwa Food Group is searching for a General Manager at our Sanwa Fresh Atlanta warehouse in Forrest Park, Georgia. This is a critical hire for our company, as our current General Manager – who has led this location for 28+ years – heads into a reduced role in advance of eventual retirement. The right candidate will not only be a good technical fit, but a good cultural fit for an operation with many long-term team members and great autonomy.
The hire for this position will spend the first several months learning the business inside and out, taking this opportunity to shadow the current General Manager – while building relationships and evaluating the existing operation. Over this time period, the right candidate will build confidence in the existing operational team in his/her leadership capabilities – achieving buy-in for the eventual transition to the effective leader of the operation.
We are looking for candidates with sustained leadership experience in the warehouse and distribution industries, with food service experience a significant plus. While multi-lingual capabilities are not required, they would give candidates a boost as our workforce, product lines, and customers represent a diverse cross-section of the population.
The interview process is expected to include multiple phases, including remote meeting with corporate management and an on-site meeting at the Atlanta operation that will include the local team.
