Role Summary:This individual will serve not only as a General Manager, but a Brand Ambassador for Tap In Pub when engaging with guests, the community, and the internal team. As a General Manager, this person will be responsible for ensuring the success of the Restaurant, Bar and associated Banquet space. This individual will oversee the management and daily operational functions of this restaurant through hands-on, energetic leadership and presence during peak service hours. In addition, this individual will oversee all administrative, financial, training, performance management and recruiting efforts for these areas offering assistance and guidance where needed.Responsibilities:

1. Organizes and conducts pre-shift and departmental meetings

2. Manages daily operation including opening and closing requirements

3. Assists with the creation and development of community outreach and marketing plans to maximize sales opportunities and maximize use within existing markets

4. Conducts ongoing training programs for new and existing employees

5. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven, demanding environment

6. Coordinates with the F&B, Sales, and Convention Services team for group events

7. Organizes special events in the restaurant

8. Checks for food quality and service consistency

9. Oversees the inventories for F&B liquor control

10. Ensures food quality standards by overseeing preparation of all food items and managing inventory.

11. Provides a positive, empowering, and productive work environment through setting an example and consistency of daily work habits and standards

12. Assists the culinary team in developing innovative menu selections in accordance with client budgetary considerations and expectations.

13. Completes weekly food orders while maintaining food cost to budget

14. Develops and presents food and menu items that encourage guest satisfaction and repeat customers.

15. Instructs new hires and employees on the expectations and responsibilities for each of their roles

16. Interacts positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services

17. Analyzes, investigates, and resolves guest complaints

18. Responsible for the implementation and use of the Compeat Inventory and menu item system as a tool to manage and control costs

19. Oversee liquor ordering and liquor controls to ensure that liquor costs can be maintained within established benchmarks

20. Oversee staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage while working within established labor benchmarks

21. Holds staff accountable in a positive and constructive manner. Follows prescribed progressive discipline and consults with HR Director on employee actions

22. Manage staff labor punches, ensuring punch errors are documented and corrected within the prescribed time periods

23. Responsible for the update and maintenance of the Micros Point of Sales System as well as the implementation of a replacement system as needed

24. Manage to budget and understand monthly and YTD P&L. Be able to explain variances.

25. Update and create SOP’s top ensure that critical processes (e.g., opening and closing checklists) and service standards are documented and serve as the basis for staff training.

26. Ensures safety requirements of the Company are upheld at all times on the property.

27. Attends all Company-sponsored meetings and trainings.

28. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: ______________________________________________________________________

Education

  1. College graduate or equivalent work experience

  2. BASSET Certification required

  3. ServSafe Manager Certification preferred

Experience

  1. Three to Five years of relevant Restaurant and/or Bar Management experience

  2. Micros Simphony experience preferred

  3. Strong beverage knowledge including beer and spirits

Skills

  1. Excellent verbal and written skills

  2. Neat, clean and professional appearance

  3. Ability to work in a team environment

  4. Must have problem solving abilities, and the ability to compute basic arithmetic.

  5. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation

  2. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill job duties.

  3. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly.
