Shift: AM/PM - Various. Must have availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.
What will I be doing?
A General Maintenance - Water Features is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the hotel's Pools, Jacuzzi's, Boat ways and Water Features. Perform maintenance and repair and cleaning work in support of quality standards. Specifically, you would be responsible for the following:
- Perform daily cleaning of ponds, pools, spas, Jacuzzi's and boat ways as assigned. Perform daily water tests and adjust chemicals as needed. Ensure pump rooms and storage areas are clean and orderly.
- Assist senior Department team members with piping and pump repairs and preventive maintenance. Following completion of shift, complete shift log, describe work assigned and completed, logging unfinished job following established procedures.
- Inform supervisor of needed supplies and equipment and through written and verbal communication.

What are we looking for?
EDUCATION
High School education desired.
EXPERIENCE
Pool maintenance experience desired.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Type 3 Hawaii Driver's License required. CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred. Certified pool operation certificate.
GROOMING
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Basic Knowledge of pool water circulation systems.
- Basic knowledge of pool water chemistry.
- Ability to work shift in wet suit.
- Basic English language communication skills in order to complete logs, read mechanical drawings, communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments.
- Basic trade mathematical skills in order to calculate quantities of materials, prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations using a calculator
- Ability to push, pull or otherwise transport objects or materials weighing up to 200 lbs. on a hand truck/cart or other wheeled assistance.
- Ability to perform tasks consistently while bending, stooping, kneeling or standing while supporting, grasping, lifting, or carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, solve customer concerns.
- Ability to move and work throughout the hotel, both indoors and outdoors, for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, which can occasionally be noisy and wet.
- Ability to work under extreme temperature ranges.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand to manipulate switches, operates fine hand tools, and adjusts and maintains equipment.
