General Ledger Accountant

EAG is searching for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will generate accurate journal entries, reconcile both simple and complex accounts, assist in month-end close processes, and prepare financial statements.
The person in this role is expected to demonstrate daily the appropriate analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below and generate quality results. Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustments.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile intercompany accounts, resolving discrepancies timely.
• Month-end and Year-end Close: Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes including financial statement preparation and analysis. Meet key deadlines to achieve month-end close dates.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting regulations.
• Audit Support: Provide support during client internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Provide support during EAG SOC audits and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal team members and clients across different levels of the organization.
• Process Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements in coordination with EAG's Program Management Office to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes and results.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other BPO Accounting teams such as AP, JIB, Revenue, and Treasury to resolve issues and improve accounting results.

POSITION, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).?
• 2 to 3 years of proven experience as GL Accountant in the oil and gas industry or similar relevant experience.
• Public company accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
• Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Motivated, self-starter.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Strong Excel skills including ability to generate PivotTables, PivotCharts, Data Validation Rules, Advanced Formulas such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF, SUBTOTAL.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with one or more of the following applications: Enertia, P2 Bolo, Quorum Enterprise, Quorum On Demand Accounting (formerly OGSys), Quorum OGSQL, W Energy.
