Job Summary
The General Contractor's Assistant position is to be the right hand to the President, assisting with projects from start to completion.
The Candidate must enjoy solving day-to-day construction challenges and is looking to learn and grow with an expanding company.
The GC Assistant has an ability for communicating information easily, clearly, and professionally.
Knowledge of Typical Construction means and methods is a requirement of this candidate
Not only does the perfect candidate give directions well, but they can also listen and take directions as well.
This position will require the candidate to be at multiple active construction sites daily
Job Duties:
- Responsible for helping GC maintain lines of communication with Owner, Crew, Office, Subcontractors, and Vendors.
- Organize and oversee the tasks and schedule of the GC. This includes direct or indirect involvement with:
- Project Management, New business / sales, Administrative, Accounting, Marketing, Purchasing, Scheduling.
- Take notes for the GC during meetings with clients, architect, and subcontractors.
- Ensure construction tasks are completed on time and with the highest quality standards.
- Keep track of project tasks, follow-ups, and deadlines.
- Oversee crew tasks, work hours, and attendance daily.
- Buy materials and ensure proper construction materials and quantities are always onsite for worker use.
- Driving as needed, either to job sites or to help with either personal or professional errands.
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent in English.
- Valid driver's license with clean record.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs & up to 100lbs.
- Ability to write legibly; ability to write clear concise e-mails; ability to write detailed reports or correspondence; ability to write legibly in electronic format.
- Strong communications skills.
- Excellent organization skills and critical thinking.
- Strong ability to work under pressure, deadlines and problem solving.
- Ability to use basic measurement tools.
