Position Overview:
Performs administrative functions in support of procurement of subcontracted services, aircraft material, and support equipment. The General Clerk works under the general supervision of the Acquisition Lead.
Job Responsibilities:
This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. General Clerk III selects from alternative methods and refers to problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties. Additional essential functions may be identified by the organization and listed as such in the incumbent's performance appraisal elements.
- Sets up new vendors for business
- Identifies new sources
- Maintains vendor Representations and Certifications current.
- Obtains vendor quotes and bids for parts and services
- Follows up on overdue purchase orders; expedites orders
- Expedites and schedules part requests for purchasing
- Compiles information and records in support of the department
- Assists in the maintenance of purchase order files
- Assists in resolving shipping and billing issues
- Assists in processing claims
- Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
The following minimum qualifications have been identified by subject matter experts (SME) who have supervised this position or functioned in the position; they are based on job analysis information supplied by these SME'S.
- At least two (2) year’s experience working in a procurement or similar office environment.
- Analytical abilities sufficient to interpret and comply with detailed administrative procedures, written and/or oral instructions, and regulations
- Analytical abilities sufficient to make sound, independent judgments
- Working knowledge of PC word processing/spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Word & Excel, Email & Internet search necessary.).
Well-developed oral and written communication skills
