This position will be located at our Garden Center only.
Job Overview:
The Jones Brothers' Group is seeking a Garden Center Associate to join our team. As a Garden Associate, you will assist customers with their gardening needs and provide exceptional customer service. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have a passion for plants and enjoy working in a retail environment. This is a seasonal position starting as soon as possible, running through September/October.
Duties:
- Assist customers in selecting plants, flowers, and gardening supplies
- Provide guidance and recommendations on plant care and maintenance
- Create attractive displays and arrange merchandise in an organized manner
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer transactions
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Garden Center
- Water plants and ensure they are properly cared for
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred
- Knowledge of floral design is a plus, but not required
- Multilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are beneficial for communicating with diverse customers, but not required
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and assist customers effectively
- Proficient in cash handling and basic retail math calculations
- Excellent communication skills in English, spanish is a plus
