Our award-winning Gallery in TriBeCa is seeking a Marketing and Gallery Manager for Galerie56, located at 240 Church Street to play an integral role in our firm’s small team of architects, designers, and gallerists.
This is a full-time in-person position with excellent full benefits. You will be working in our newly renovated TriBeCa gallery at the base of 56 Leonard, Herzog & de Meuron residential tower.
Roles and Responsibilities
General Marketing/ PR
- Formatting and developing social media program
- Planning and posting to Instagram daily
- Replying to inquiries on social media and maintaining online presence by interacting with design accounts and publishers
- Uploading and updating new content to the website
- Develop a website component for the gallery for promotion and events
Gallery:
- Assist principal and directors with curation, events and schedule
- Lead, develop, and implement marketing strategies to promote gallery events
- Prepare and organize for upcoming presentations and other gallery events by retaining a detailed calendar and to-do list and assist in curatorial program
- Coordinate and manage art handlers and represented galleries for install and deinstall of exhibitions
- Liaise with artists, galleries and institutions, overseeing all related correspondence and projects, including exhibitions, inventory, sales, and events
- Upkeep of gallery space to be presentable at all times
- Design and create event invitations, and exhibition catalogues
- Assist clients and visitors with exhibition in gallery
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in art and design related program
- 4+ years of related professional experience with art/ furniture galleries, marketing/ PR for design studios
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task and stay calm, positive at all times, and productive under pressure
- Creative, collaborative and a team player
- Strong understanding of art and design and marketing strategy
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and presentation skill
- Strong attention to detail, extremely well-organized & ability to meet frequent deadlines and changing priorities
- Ability to trouble-shoot, problem-solve proactively and efficiently, and anticipate issues in need of resolution
- Ability to adapt to new tasks and take on new responsibilities as needed
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus
- Some installing and dismantling of exhibition is expected
