Responsibilities
- Control and manage both pre and post-sale inventory, property labeling, storage, and condition reports of a high volume of property
- Coordinate with colleagues including, but not limited to Appraisers, Specialty Departments, Consignment Department, Photographers, Client Services Department, Facilities Team, and Art Handlers to ensure seamless movement of property through all stages of property management
- Use of computer system, software programs, inventory database
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse, property placement, and location tracking systems
- Oversee and assist with property releases and deliveries, including tagging and paperwork
- Identify, research and designate untagged and/or abandoned property
- Supervise and train warehouse employees and oversee daily operations
- Ensure a high degree of attention to detail, focus, and innovation strategies
- Manage property rotation, auction lot number tagging, and assist with exhibition installations
- Perform regular sweeps of the building to monitor property condition, storage trouble spots, and risk assessments
- Organize and movement of property to be photographed for upcoming sales
- Logical and practical problem solver with ability to resolve issues as the arise
- Ability to work with a team, and also independently
Qualifications
- Working knowledge and interest in antique furniture and auction industry
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role or related field
- Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures
- Computer aptitude and experience with inventory management systems
- Able to safely handle delicate items and lift up to 70 pounds
- Skilled at Identify pieces that require restoration and performing minor restorations, repairs, along with cleaning and polishing
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Flexible and team-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a busy environment
- Strong written, numeracy and verbal communication skills
- Able to work with all levels of staff and clients
- Driver's license preferred
