ORIX USA is seeking an Accounting Manager relating to asset management (Credit Products) in the NY office to assist with line of business accounting and financial reporting functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of accounting and reporting matters for ORIX USA asset management funds & SMAs as assigned. Primary focus will be in Credit products including accounting for the following types of assets (but not limited to): loans, warrants, debt and equity securities, equity method investments, consolidated investments, etc.
- Work closely with the Asset Management group in NY on all aspects of Fund Accounting and administration
- Review 3rd Party Fund Administrator's work including financial statements, capital call and distribution notices, partners' capital account statements, management fee calculations, waterfalls, and allocations between partners
- Create and modify waterfalls at Fund, portfolio company, and GP levels
- Prepare and/or review management fee calculations and waterfalls (for SMAs or funds without a fund administrator)
- Review valuation models that are originally prepared by deal teams or 3rd party service providers
- Work with Treasury and other parties to provide information for and manage liquidity of the vehicles including cash distributions, credit lines etc.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries and financial packages
- Create and maintain line of business ("LOB") budgets & forecasts in coordination with FP&A team and LOB leaders as necessary
- Coordination with Operations, Corporate Accounting, HR, Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, and Tax teams
- Coordinate with Dallas HQ on closing and other accounting/reporting matters
- Ability to work with external and internal auditors on financial service-related accounting issues/questions
- Assist with accounting research
- Other projects and duties as assigned

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.
Education, Skills & Experience
Required
- 5-8 years of overall accounting and reporting experience
- Private Credit Fund accounting experience including mastery of waterfalls, subsequent close, and management fee calculations
- Ability to understand and interpret legal documents
- Ability to handle investor allocations
- Advanced experience with using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Familiar with US GAAP technical accounting, including Investment Company Accounting guidance & Registered Advisor compliance requirements
- Current or prior experience in regard to participation of timely and accurate reporting and financial statement preparation under US GAAP
- Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year university required
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; strong analytical skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines; Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines; Ability to adjust priorities in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Travel to Dallas HQ on a regular basis
Preferred
- A combination of in house and 3rd party fund administrator experience is preferred
- Valuation experience on credit investments a plus
- Certified Public Accountant
- Advanced degree
Annual base salary gross: $130,000 - $150,000 (NY only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of the ORIX USA's salary for this position. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX' USA's total compensation package for employees.
