Job Description
Position Summary:
The I&E technician is responsible for repairing all I&E equipment across the site interacting with Operations, Site Technical and Line Management. This position is assigned to the Maintenance Team and reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The work schedule will be Monday – Friday 40 hours per week. Overtime is requested at times but should not be expected regularly. There will be an on-call schedule after some time, this will be discussed in detail later.
Responsibilities:
· Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace Motor Starter Buckets, Lighting, transformers, relays, and contractors; AC motors; VFDs; Electrical outlet ground faults; Circuit breakers, and power panels; line and control fuses; specialty equipment; pneumatic cylinders; and electrical outlets.
· Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and or replace equipment: flow, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters, control valves, pressure switches, field analyzers such as pH meters, LEL meters, and O2 sensors.
· Weekly PM activities which require attention to detail, and accurate data collection.
· Read / Follow PM procedures and record data.
· Troubleshoot PLC / DCS I/O.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
· Minimum 5 years of on-the-job experience as a maintenance IE&A technician.
· NCCER certification preferred.
· NFPA 70E Certified
· CPR Certified
· Capable with computer operation such that the technician can navigate customers system to find and print out specification data sheets and drawings.
· Understands how to read and trouble shoot relay logic / ladder logic.
· Fundamental understanding of how motor starters work and the ability to read motor schematics.
· Understands how to use field communicator 475/Trex, Fluke multimer meter, hand pump, crystal gauge, thermocouple/RTD simulator,
megger, amp clamp, and various other instrument / electrical testing equipment.
· Experience with Yokogawa Centum VP DCS
· Experience with Foundation Fieldbus
· Other tasks assigned by the Supervisor
· Must be capable of working in the standing position for up to 4 hours at a time / Able to climb stairs to as much as four flights and ladders on a regular basis / Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, twisting and turning / Regular crawling, climbing, kneeling, squatting and bending will be required / Able to work in PPE such as acid suits, vapor suits, hot suits, and respirator as business needs require.
