About you and this role - What you will do in this role
Dow has an opportunity for an Analyzer Technician located in Orange, Texas within the Hydrocarbons business. This role will support the SR-1 unit, a competitive ethylene cracker amongst the Gulf Coast with a robust pipeline of capital investment. This role serves as a vital resource providing specialized technical support and solutions for daily maintenance and capital projects.
Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

  • Provides technical expertise and support relative to analyzers which includes: ensuring equipment functionality, troubleshooting failures, meeting compliance requirements, supporting reliability improvements, providing technical assistance for project development and commissioning.
  • Works with the technologist to support technician training and development.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of all analytical equipment calibrations in accordance with site best practices.
  • Owns continuous improvement of maintenance plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Capable of reading and understanding P&ID'S, PFD'S, and perform maintenance tasks using instrument loop sheets.
  • Ability to work overtime, including being available for call out on holidays and weekends as is necessary for the continued operations of the plant per the call out list.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma and one or more of the following:
    • An Industry Accredited Training or completed Apprenticeship program.
    • A minimum of an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Analytical Instrumentation or Instrumentation Technology.
    • 3+ years of relevant military experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting, repairing and calibrating analyzer systems.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience inspecting, repairing and calibrating analyzer systems.
  • Experience with the following types of equipment:
    • Mass Spectrometry.
    • Analytical networking.
    • Gas Chromatograph.
    • Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMs).
    • Moisture Analysis.
    • Oxygen Analyzer.
