Job Summary: The IOT Engineering Technician works closely with engineers to assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of products, systems, and equipment. This role involves hands-on work, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to ensure projects and connected devices are completed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

  1. PACe Installation: Support the installation, configuration, and testing of connected devices. Conduct on-site inspections to verify the functionality and performance of deployed systems. Diagnose and resolve technical issues pertaining to gateway, networks, and data connectivity
  2. Testing and Evaluation: Conduct various tests on products, systems, or equipment in accordance to test plans, quality standards and specifications. Document test results and provide feedback for analysis by engineers.
  3. Technical Support: Provide technical support to engineers and other team members by troubleshooting issues, analyzing data, and proposing solutions. Assist in resolving any technical challenges that arise during the development and testing.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration on equipment and tools used in engineering projects. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and alert appropriate personnel of any maintenance needs or equipment failures.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of engineering designs, test procedures, and results. Prepare reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and next steps for review by engineering team members and management.
  6. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines in all engineering activities. Identify potential safety hazards and act appropriately to mitigate risks in the workplace.
  7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and other team members to achieve project goals within established timelines and budgets. Communicate effectively to ensure everyone is informed of project progress and any challenges that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree or technical certification or 5 yrs. minimum relevant work experience.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and IoT data analytics tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and documenting results.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and part of a team.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or relevant internships/co-op programs is advantageous.

Working Conditions: Engineering technicians typically work in office settings, laboratories, or manufacturing environments. The role may involve occasional travel to client sites or manufacturing facilities for testing or troubleshooting purposes. Depending on the project's nature, technicians may need to work flexible hours to meet deadlines.
