Description:Location: Tri State Auto Parts
10820 Church Rd., Walls, MS 38680
Monday through Friday
Salary: $90,000.00 - 125,000.00 annually EOE plus bonus
A Full-Service Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the salvage yard, including managing the inventory of parts, supervising employees, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Buy
  • Collaborate with the inventory buying team to ensure the site and regional teams are coordinated, including the timely arrival of incoming vehicles.
  • Inventory
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of vehicle inventory.
  • Collaborate with inventory and pricing teams to provide site-level feedback.
  • Inventory level regulation-Including cycle counts and replenishment orders.
  • Monitor timely part resolution processes.
  • Monitor the returns department to ensure prompt and accurate processing.

2. Dismantle

  • Responsible for overseeing the accurate and safe dismantling of salvage vehicles, working with the production manager.
  • Ensure dismantled vehicle count meets or exceeds the amount purchased.
  • Monitor and meet cost targets.
  • Ensure a consistently clean and safe working environment.

3. Sell

  • Collaborate with the regional sales manager and members of the sales team to ensure that sales and production operate in a coordinated manner and to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide excellent customer service and navigate customer service issues with professionalism.
  • Ensure customer pick-up policies are followed by team members.

4. Process

  • Accountable for equipment, delivery vehicle, and property maintenance and repair scheduling. Supply replenishment and assuring that all required products are on-site for departments to complete required tasks.
  • Inspect and train employees to produce high-quality parts and order accuracy.
  • Responsible for meeting production targets.
  • Monitor open COD’s and work with finance to facilitate payment collections.
  • Implement and execute a safe working environment that meets OSHA and EPA compliance.
  • Maintain a positive culture for health and safety and adhere to company safety procedures.

5. Ship/Deliver

  • Maintain packaging standards and quality of part shipments.
  • Manage the safe transportation and efficient delivery of orders and pick-ups.
  • Verify the accuracy of payments from delivery routes.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and state transportation regulations.

6. Administration

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all functions at the facility.
  • Manage employee staffing, including hiring, performance coaching, discipline, reviews, termination, absence coverage for supervisors, overtime, and shift planning.
  • Execute site-level finance activities.
  • Analyze and continuously improve workflows and processes to increase efficiency and safety.
  • Responsible for ensuring environmental compliance of the facility. This includes reporting, testing, and keeping up to date on local and state environmental laws and regulations.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely reporting of safety violations or incidents. Actively participate in the Safety Committee, and continuously work with team members to improve safety habits and procedures.

7. Perform Other Duties as Assigned
Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of Auto Salvage Yard management or leadership experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required with a commitment to act with an elevated level of professionalism during all transactions both internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and their value.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Receptive to management development suggestions and willing to seek additional knowledge to facilitate job growth.
  • Must have strong relationship skills, be able to provide and model leadership behaviors including the ability to defuse conflict. Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must have a good relationship with and mentor others without exhibiting behavioral extremes; perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret HR regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Understanding of financial statements and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to use both hands regularly with enough dexterity to complete assigned responsibilities.
  • Occasionally lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs
  • Working hours will include regular site operating hours, as well as a potential after-hours presence in the event of accidents or emergencies.
  • Must be willing to occasionally travel.
