Fulfillment Specialist

HappiLabs is a small business based in Chicago that provides a service to scientists called the Virtual Lab Manager. We support scientists in various ways, virtually, and act as an outsourced purchasing department (some might say a Personal Shopper) for biotech companies and scientific research labs. We are changing the ways scientists spend their money.

As a Fulfillment Specialist, you will assist in preparing and shipping products for customers from our onsite stockroom. We’re a mission-driven organization, seeking a detail-oriented, motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute ideas to help grow the onsite stockroom at HappiLab.

EXPERIENCE

• H.S. diploma required

A strong candidate will have two or more of these backgrounds:

• 3+ years of Logistics experience

• Customer service experience

• Purchasing in a science setting
  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily fulfillment of HappiPlace orders

• Offer recommendations to improve efficiency and timeliness of HappiPlace daily operations & order fulfillment

• Manage inventory for HappiPlace (including data entry & reconciliation between site + onsite)

• Receive & stock incoming shipments

• Scan & upload packing slips
  

DESIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS

• Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and can maneuver large, cumbersome items

• Able to stand on your feet for 1-2 hours, at a time

• Quick, mental flexibility – we’re a growing company, always changing, and a good candidate must be willing (and excited!) to change the pace

• Tech savvy and able to learn & navigate multiple software for data entry 

• Detail oriented while still maintaining excellent time management and multitasking skills

• Proactive – predict potential problems and attempt to resolve them on their own 

• A passion for science and a desire to make a difference in the world

• Tough, physically & mentally
  

SCHEDULING

• 5 days a week (M-F) on site

• 20-30 hours per week  

• At least 4 hours a day; ideally 9a-1p
  

COMPENSATION

• $21-23/hour, depending on experience 

• 401(K) Plan
