Here's what you'd do:
- Provide technical support for an extensive nationwide network.
- Support needs a physical layer, data link, and network layer knowledge.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network problems within Network Operations Control Center (NOCC), utilizing network management and monitoring tools.
- Perform root cause analysis to determine an action plan for restoring customer services.
- Monitor the alarm conditions on the network to proactively identify and minimize disruption and impact to the FAA network.
- Employ test methods to analyze channelized/unchanneled T1 T3, utilizing DAC equipment.
- Utilize test methods to analyze/troubleshoot Ethernet, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, WAN, LAN, SONET, and TDM.
- Work with Local Exchange Carriers (LEC), ILECs, and IXCs to resolve WAN problems.
- Work with onsite field technicians remotely to resolve local issues.
- Resolve problems using internal and external groups, as needed, to correct trouble on the FTI network and interact with the customer.

Hours: 5/40 (1st Shift).
Length: Temp to Perm (12 Months).

- Associate Degree.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in layer 1 Troubleshooting.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in networking technologies with SONET or Time Division Multiplexing (TDM).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or Telecommunications, or Engineering, or Networking, or Information Technology.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification.
- Experience with call center phone systems and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Networking technologies experience such as RF, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, HSRP, ATM, and Frame Relay.
- Experience with Network Management tools like Cisco Prime SNMPc, Orion, and NetFlow.
- Experience in UNIX and Remote Access solutions.
- Ability to support short-term emergency evacuation to local or remote backup facilities.
- Expertise in remote maintenance and repair of network equipment such as Cisco, Sycamore, and APC.
- Willingness to learn TDM technologies.
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
- Active Interim Secret DoD Clearance.
