Job Description
A recognized services company in Florida is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff in Miami as their new SEC Reporting Manager. In this role, the SEC Reporting Manager will be responsible for performing various duties to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the firm.
Responsibilities:
The SEC Reporting Manager will
- Prepare and/or review components of the GAAP and SEC financial statements and reporting packages as assigned
- Prepare and/or review components of the statutory-basis financial statements
- Assist in the evaluation and documentation of complex accounting transactions
- Review detailed work of Accounting team, subsidiary financial reporting packages and footnote support
- Perform designated tasks within the monthly close management process
- Execute internal controls designed to mitigate identified risks within the financial reporting process
- Assist with requests of both internal and external auditors
- Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules being deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB, or other regulations
- Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and other duties related to financial reporting and analysis, as assigned
- Manage the monthly/quarterly close calendar and assist with the coordination of close activities
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience, including 4+ years of SEC Reporting experience at a Publicly Traded company
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- CPA
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations.
- Experience with analyzing and understanding key data
- Microsoft Office proficient (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Experience working for a Public Accounting firm
