JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager or designee, this position will be responsible for facility cleanliness and general maintenance of the Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center. Primary responsibilities will be to provide quality customer service and maintain a clean and orderly facility. Duties include cleaning and stocking restrooms and locker-rooms, cleaning floors, doors and windows, assisting with minor repairs and larger facility maintenance projects, setting up athletic equipment or other room setups, assisting with facility inspections, locking and securing the facility as needed, assisting with snow removal at entrances, and performing other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.
ASFC Operational Hours: Mon. - Fri. 4:30 am - 11:00 pm, Sat. 6:00 am - 10:00 pm and Sun. 7:00 am - 10:00 pm
Position Hours: Wed. - Sun. from 2:00 - 10:30 pm, with flexibility to work other days and times as needed.
Must be willing and have the flexibility to work additional and/or alternate hours, including early mornings and weekends, to accommodate District needs.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, and service-oriented with previous custodial or housekeeping experience required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
- Effective customer service and communication skills with the ability to speak and understand English.
- Good organizational and time management skills with attention to detail are required.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and equipment related to facility maintenance, including hand and power tools is highly desired.
- Must be in good physical condition to stand and walk for extended periods of time, with manual dexterity and enough strength to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Proficient computer skills necessary to communicate through email and interact with various GEPD systems and mobile apps for scheduling, work orders, etc. as needed.
- General carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and mechanical repair skills are a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is essential as well as reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must become CPR and First Aid certified which will be provided by the GEPD.
