Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for assisting the Front Office Managers in Front Office functions and supervision on a daily basis and serving guests at the front desk while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous and professional manner by following Marriott standards of hospitality and adhering to guidelines and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
Providing services that are above and beyond for guest satisfaction and retention.
Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others;
advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity;
leads by example.
Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members.
Improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs,
maintaining quality products in accordance with Pacifica Hotel Company standards,
providing guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed.
Assist management in supervising Front Office staff to strive towards total guest satisfaction and associates are adhering to all hotel policies, standards, procedures and regulations.
Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.
Anticipate and respond to guest needs.
Handle all aspects of guest registration, which can include: expediting the check-in/check-out process; following hotel rate structures, discounts, and selling strategies; issuing room keys; informing guests about hotel features and amenities, as well as local attractions; and satisfying special requests whenever possible.
Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.
Have knowledge about room rates, packages, discounts and promotions and know how to handle each.
Maintain and understand special guest programs and franchise related programs.
Find solutions quickly, and confidently address and resolve guest concerns.
Distribute faxes, packages, and mail to guests for delivery or inform guest of receipt as necessary.
Answer phones according to service standards and within 3 rings.
Full understanding of the Front Desk system for all guest services.
Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best
overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Knowledge/Education/Experience:Proficient in Microsoft applications. At least two (2) years previous Front Office experience preferred. Experience in a union environment is preferred but not required. Ability to speak multiple languages preferred. College degree desirable.
