POSITION SUMMARY:
Greets patients and visitors, collects patient co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding payments, answers incoming calls, and schedules patients for office visits and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
· Greet all patients and visitors to make them feel welcome.
· Complete check in process and all required paperwork
· Schedules patients for office appointments
· Verify patient insurance prior to their appointment
· Collect all co-payments, past due balances, and pre-payments at the time of service, appropriately documenting them within the appropriate system.
· Properly close end of day batches by reconciling all moneys collected and prepare for deposit.
· Answer phones promptly with positive attitude and resolve patient questions
· Check voicemail regularly and return all calls within two business hours
· Ensure that all tasks are documented within the electronic medical record
· Manage medical records and incoming fax documents appropriately
· Assist with pre-certification, authorizations, and follow up as needed
· Back-up and assist other office staff as needed
· Travel between offices as necessary
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

· Knowledge of insurance and benefits structure
· Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation
· Skill in computer applications including MS Word and MS
· Must be able to type 45-60 WPM
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
· High School graduate and/or
· Two years of relevant work experience, in health care
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS:
· Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and lifting up to 35 pounds
· Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, scanner, copier, telephone and other office equipment.
· Work performed in office environment
· Involves frequent contact with professional staff and patients

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
