We are looking for a Patient Care Coordinator to help cover our Chesterton, Valparaiso, and Crown Point physical therapy clinics to oversee daily operations. This position supports all clinical functions and is critical to the success of the practice. The responsibilities are wide ranging and can vary from day to day but the #1 goal is to create and maintain a pleasant environment for the team and for the patients. The expectation is maintaining high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, and safety.
Patient Care Coordinator duties and responsibilities include scheduling appointments, verifying patients’ insurance benefits, obtain all require pre-certs and authorizations, ordering office/clinical supplies, greeting visitors, manage relationship with our external medical billing company, communicate with patients about their accounts, and providing general administrative support to our team.
Previous experience as a Front Office Coordinator, Office Administrator, or possessing a background in health care / medical field would be an advantage. A successful Patient Care Coordinator should have experience with a variety of office software (EMR, Outlook, spreadsheets, and databases) and be able to accurately handle administrative duties. Ultimately, the Patient Care Coordinator should be able to ensure the smooth running of the clinic and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation.
Responsibilities:
- Work as the primary scheduler and customer point of contact
- Oversee medical billing, appointment scheduling, and medical record maintenance Regulate
- patient intake and maintain accurate records (EMR: WebPT)
- Verify insurance, submit pre-authorization requests, track approved visits, and explain eligibility & benefits to patients
- Answer phone lines with an upbeat and professional phone etiquette
- General clerical work, including correspondence with patients, physicians, referral sources, the community and the team
- Maintain the office/clinic condition and arrange necessary repairs - Show pride in your clinical surroundings
