Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Greeting all incoming patients in a professional, friendly manner via telephone or in person
- Ensuring patient information is complete and accurate, updating patient profiles, and scanning required documents into patient electronic charts
- Collecting co-payments and outstanding balances
- Meeting quality and productivity standards as set by the Practice Manager
- Monitoring and replying to patient emails and voicemails in a timely and efficient manner
- Abiding by and promoting HIPAA compliance and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information
- Any other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Practice Manager
- Determining insurance eligibility, co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles and outstanding balances
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate must also:
- Communicate with patients, visitors, and co-workers with courtesy and respect
- Display a professional, outgoing, caring, and helpful attitude
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, while maintaining confidentiality
- Be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks as delegated by the Practice Manager
- Assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely manner
- Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers through the telephone, email, and in-person
- A year of medical Front Office experience is preferred
