Front of House Staff (weekends)

We are looking to hire a barista/cashier/expo! We want someone to work Saturday and Sunday and help us crush those busy weekend services!

This job will evolve as the business grows and as your skills grow. You will be a core member of our Front of House team. This is a great opening for someone who wants to be part of a dynamic, growing food business.

Our goals are:

• Make thousands of incredible bagels every week
• Produce outstanding pastries and sweets (and be known for them as much as bagels)
• Make delicious bagel sandwiches using high quality ingredients
• Serve great coffee
• Provide fast, friendly service to customers

As a barista/cashier/expo, you will help us achieve the last two.

Responsibilities

You will work in a front-of-house team of 3 - barista, cashier, and expo.

Coffee (~30% of your time)

• Dial in espresso and filter coffee
• Produce top quality drinks using a super-automatic machine
• Pour steamed milk (latte art)
• Iced coffee drinks
• Maintain and clean the coffee station

Cashier (40%)

• Take customer orders in a fast, friendly way
• Handle cash and card payments
• Be the first point of contact for our customers
• Fulfill bulk bagel orders ("a dozen") and pastry orders from the display case
• Monitor the Front of House and ensure that it stays organized, and product displays are full

Expo (30%)

• Fulfill orders passed from the line
• Mission control for the whole Front of House
• Keep the Front of House organized
• Observe and react to unexpected situations

Location and hours

1003 West Chapel Hill Street. We are currently open Tue-Sun, 7am-1pm on weekdays and 8am-2pm on weekends. We are looking for someone to work 7:30am-3pm every Saturday and Sunday.

Benefits

Your compensation will comprise a base wage plus tips, with a guaranteed minimum hourly wage (if the tips aren’t enough). Your take-home wage will be $20 to $22 per hour with an agreed minimum.

• Paid 30 minute lunch break
• Earn 1 hour of PTO per 40 hours worked (starts after 90 days of employment)
