The Queen Creek Olive Mill is a family-owned agritourism destination where award-winning extra virgin olive oil meets farm-to-table dining in the American Southwest.  Our picturesque space boasts a working olive farm, a production facility, Italian-styled restaurants, and a gourmet grocery store.  Front of House Manager to join our TEAM!

 Job-Specific Responsibilities:

 Responsible for assisting in monitoring the general operations of the restaurant

  • Assist Supervisors with daily discounts following our discount policies and procedures
  • Hold Shift Leads accountable for following all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and guidelines, equipment preventative maintenance programs, opening/closing procedures, security and safety, and training programs. Achieves store sales operational objectives by contributing sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; assisting in reviewing and directing the productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; and identifying trends
  • Accountable for learning and leading your assigned DOR (Division of Responsibility) as assigned to you by the FB&E Director
  • Assisting the FB&E Director in merchandising the store and restaurant and keeping up with the daily cleaning, organization, and maintenance of the departments
    • Able to recognize when marketing changes need to occur (i.e., signage change, price change, the flow of merchandise, etc.) 
    • Knowledge of when new incoming merchandise and assisting the General Manager in rearranging to accommodate the new product in the marketplace and restaurant
  • Involved with the monitoring and control of the marketplace and restaurant inventories. This includes placing an Inventory Request by utilizing the inventory software and assisting in counting and correcting both departments’ inventories
  • Required to learn and understand information on the Olive Oil 101 class presentation. All employees require knowledge of the products and operation, but sales associates may have questions that can only be answered by individuals with the Olive Oil 101 document knowledge
  • Thank each guest for coming in and visiting us, and invite them to visit again
  • You must have a complete understanding and be able to train your staff in operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, inventory system, and all other related systems required to run store operations efficiently
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy. Inform guests of daily and monthly specials and all current events and activities. Be familiar with all products offered by QCOM and make suggestions to our customers (up-sell) on products to purchase. Answer questions about our retail products, food, beverages, and other services
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow associates as situations arise
  • Be familiar with all products the Queen Creek Olive Mill offers, including the company mission and facts about extra virgin olive oil. Make suggestions to our customers (up-sell) on products to complement their purchase
  • Be aware of all promotions, specials, and upcoming events, including The Di Oliva schedule and menu
  • Check the event calendar daily and subscribe to the company email list for the latest upcoming events
  • May provide phone support for all incoming calls. Take messages or transfer calls when necessary
  • When asked, be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations of  Queen Creek Olive Mill as directed by the owner, store manager, or your immediate supervisor
  • Perform all jobs required of a del Piero sales associate and shift lead
  • Inspect serving areas inside and outside to ensure proper hygiene and safety standards are strictly observed. The inside dining area must be kept pristine, charming, and orderly

    Qualifications:

    • Be at least 21 years of age
    • Possess current food handler certification or card for the county in which he/she is employed or the ability to obtain within 14 days of employment
    • Be able to cope with the stress of seasonal sales activity and hours
    • Work standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
    • Time management skills are a must
    • Must have excellent problem solving skills
    • Excellent critical thinking & decision-making skills
    • Customer Service Skills
    • Be able to communicate and understand your department's predominant language(s)
    • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift 50 pounds
    • Computer skills, specifically company spreadsheets, word processing, POS, Inventory, and other computer applications are required
    • A passion for the culinary arts
