The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for being the first point of contact at the Park District Administration Building. The main functions require interaction with the public on a daily basis in-person as well as through phone and email correspondence. Communicating with co-workers as part of a team is essential. Other general responsibilities include, but are not limited to inputting participant program registrations, selling passes and making reservations into the District's RecTrac registration software system, filing and other general office duties. Assists with special projects.
Pay: $15-$18/hour hiring range
Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday beginning June to August. Work may be available earlier/later in season. Hours will be offered between 10am - 5pm. Work shift schedule will be discussed with the individual hired. This is a summer, seasonal position.
Qualifications: Prefer an individual that is at least 18 years of age, will consider those 16-17 years of age. Prior customer experience is a plus. Must have strong computer skills. Position requires attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills. Must have the ability to work effectively with a team. Experience with RecTrac registration system a plus but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the mission, goals and objectives of the Winnetka Park District, including all departments.
2. Establish and maintain open and positive lines of communication with all Park District patrons and staff.
3. Provide exceptional customer service to the patrons of the Park District and colleagues.
4. Answer and route phone calls.
5. Provide information to callers or walk-in patrons about Park District programs, special events and facilities.
6. Input activity registrations and facility reservations into RecTrac.
7. Review seasonal pass applications, issue passes and collect fees.
8. Sort and distribute incoming mail.
9. Maintain Front Desk cleanliness and organization.
10. Assist with maintaining an inventory of office supplies.
11. Performs light office duties as requested.
12. Shall proactively perform all tasks within the rules and guidelines of the District's safety and risk management program.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
